On May 25, 2022, Pathea Games released My Time at Sandrock, the sequel to My Time at Portia. It is similar to the previous indie game in that the player may build a variety of structures, weapons, and tools.
My Time at Sandrock, on the other hand, is more than a sandbox; it has a story and a cast of characters with different personalities. There is a cosmos to explore aside from what the player builds from the resources scattered about.
My Time at Sandrock has a large number of components that builders may utilise to create their machines, and some of the early machines and craftable goods need quartz to create. The game doesn’t do a great job of explaining how to locate quartz other than where to collect it from machines, although quartz is rather easy to mine early on in the game.
Finding Quartz in My Time at Sandrock
Quartz can be obtained by using your pickhammer to mine gravel rocks found near your workshop. They’re a bit more difficult to obtain, but with enough effort, you’ll be able to obtain a couple.
Players should take their Pickhammers and head to the “Quarry,” as the game has called it. This refers to the region surrounding your workshop. Crossing the train tracks brings players into town, however, the side of the tracks where your workshop is located is formally known as the Quarry. When seeking quartz, you should concentrate your efforts in this region.
You’ll discover a number of things to mine for stuff at the Quarry, but what you’re seeking in order to earn some quartz is gravel. Smack the gravel with your Pickhammer and you could get some quartz out of it.
It’s not certain that you’ll always obtain quartz from gravel, but spending a day out in the quarry mining gravel should give you enough to last you along.

How to Craft Quartz in My Time at Sandrock
Aside from mining for it, if you have an Ore Refinery, you may put some resources in for assured quartz. The table below shows what you need to put in vs how much quartz the machine will produce.
10 Stone | 1 Quartz |
10 Copper Ore | 1 Quartz |
10 Tin Ore | 2-3 Quartz |
10 Iron Ore | 6 Quartz |
Deeper into My Time at Sandrock, pouring ore through the Ore Refinery will provide quartz, as well as the chance of other rare gemstones you may utilise elsewhere. Players can also throw their accumulated stone into the Refinery to obtain extra quartz.
Purchasing Quartz in My Time at Sandrock
Quartz may also be purchased at the Ceramic Gate Shop for around 16 Gols per piece – this is an estimate because prices in Sandrock vary.
