Fire Emblem Engage has lots of terrains as players will encounter as they make progress in the story and unlocks new areas. All the terrains in Fire Emblem Engage provide some benefits or disadvantages to the player.
Note: players can check the type of terrain by hovering over the terrain type prompt in the upper left corner.
Some of the common terrains and their effect are as follows:
- Fog/ Thicket/Woods/pillars- this costs 2 moves but provides +30 avoid.
- Protection Tile- this costs 1 turn but provides +30 avoid and 10 heal per turn.
- Water/Shoal- this costs 2 turns and also cost players -30 avoid.
- Fort- this cost 2 turns but provides +30 avoid and 10 heals per turn
- QuickSand- this costs 1 turn and also inflicts -3 movement upon ending your turn.
- Miasma- This costs 1 turn and also makes allies defence and resistance -30 and foes +30.
- Stone Pillars- this costs 2 turns and gives +3 defence and resistance
- Vines- this costs 2 turns and has no effects
- Flames- this costs 3 turns and inflicts a burn of 10 per turn.
- Ice Pillar- cost is not assigned and also has no effects
- Healing Glow- this costs 1 turn and provides 10 heals per turn
Some of the terrains can only be crossed with flying units and those terrains are as follows:
- Bulwark
- Lava
- Moat
- River
- Rubble
- Forest
- Low Wall
- Open Water
- Rock
- Sandbags
