Alter Graphics Card settings
Sometimes backtracking on the driver of your graphics card can help with FPS and Stuttering issues. You can reset to default settings of your graphics card to see if it fixes the issue. You can find reset settings under the performance tab of your graphics driver’s control panel. You can also try turning on or off VSync, and change the application settings for Lost Ark to have the maximum refresh rate of 60 FPS.
Adjust Gameplay settings
Disabling certain settings like turning off combat moves and pets can greatly reduce the FPS drop on Lost Ark. You can change the settings under Control and Display in Gameplay settings. Change the settings under the Combat/Pet section, adjust the Battle Effect Display to Foes only and remove Display Pets.
Adjust Video Settings
Changing some of the video settings to low performance can greatly increase your frame rate output. Go to Lost Ark settings, click on video settings, and change the following:
- Texture Quality: Low/Medium
- Shadow Quality: Low
- Character Quality: Low/Medium
- Particle Quality: Low
- Anti-Aliasing: Low/Off
- Auto-Optimization: Performance
- Bloom Effect: Disabled
- Flare Effect: Disabled
- Distortion Effect: Disabled
- Motion Blur: Disabled
While this will make the graphics look a bit choppy, it will not compromise on your gameplay, since performance is your main priority. You can try mixing and matching each of the settings between low and medium to check what you prefer.
Turn on GPU Scheduling
If you have the option to turn on the settings for hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling on your graphics card’s Display Settings, then you can greatly reduce the workload that your CPU takes up for Lost Ark. This also helps prevent latency as well.
Turn on Game Mode/ Disable Xbox game bar
These two setting changes can help with the performance issue of Lost Ark by boosting it. To find them both, go to Windows Settings > Gaming > Enable Game Mode > Disable Xbox Game Bar.
Change Windows Graphics Settings
Settings the priority of Lost Ark’s graphic setting on your system will greatly improve FPS.
- Go to Windows Settings > Display > Graphics.
- Click on browse under custom options for the app
- Input Program Files > Steam > steamapps > common > Lost Ark > Binaries > Win64
