New Hero Kiiriko has been recently added to Overwatch 2 this past week, but after unlocking her, players want to know when they’ll be able to play her in Ranked mode. Kiriko is a supporting character introduced in the Season 1 Battle Pass.
Players can purchase the Premium version of the Battle Pass to unlock her immediately, or they can reach level 55 on the standard track to unlock her for free. If you plan to use Kiriko in competitive matches, you can use her in ranked Overwatch 2 matches.

When will Kiriko be Playable in Overwatch 2 Ranked?
Kiriko will be playable in ranked games starting on December 7, 2022. Overwatch 2’s first season has already started and will end on December 6, 2022. That means that Kiriko will only be playable in ranked games after the second season of Overwatch 2 begins.
When a new hero is introduced into the game, they’ll be unavailable for ranked play for a certain period of time. But once that time limit ends, the character will be available for everyone to use in any mode. So if you’re impatient to try out a new hero, just wait until the end of the season, and you’ll be able to use them in whatever way you want.
The newest heroes released each season will be restricted to only being playable during the current season’s matchmaking. This was an advantageous move for Blizzard because it avoids complications related to creating a pay-to-win scenario where free players are at a disadvantage due to unlocking new heroes at level 55 while premium battle pass owners are given access to them right away.
Overwatch 2’s shorter seasons will last nine weeks, unlike other live service games that make you wait much longer to use new cosmetics in competitive matches. This way, you won’t have to wait forever to show off those sick new skins you just got.
