If you wish to play as a supporting character, then Reindog is your best bet. He is also a bit of a tank and can stop allies from falling off the stage. Reindog can use a mix of projectile ranged attacks with close combat attacks. Below are all the moves and perks that are made for Reindog.
Normal Attacks
Ptoo! (Neutral + Attack)
Unleashes a projectile once charged, which can be bounced off terrains and can be aimed up and down. Can also be used as an air attack.
Fluffy Combo (Side + Attack)
On the ground, Reindog will swipe with his claws and headbutt at enemies, while on the air he can apply Spin Dog, which spins him around and hits enemies, effectively breaking armor.
Back Bumper (Up + Attack)
This is a chargeable attack where Reindog will raise and launch upwards, hitting enemies with his back. On air, he can perform Flying Chomp, where he tries to bite enemies above him.
Tail Swipe (Down + Attack)
Reindog uses his tail to charge-swipe at enemies on the ground. On air, he will apply Tail Swat, which knocks airborne enemies downwards with his tail.
Special Attacks
Love Leash (Neutral + Special)
Unleashes a tethered projectile that is connected to Reindog. If it passes enemies, it will deal damage, but if it passes through allies, it will hold on to them, effectively charging the move. Reindog can also pull in allies this way by pressing the Neutral+Special attack again. The same move can be applied while on air. Requires cooldown.
Flounce Pounce (Side + Special)
Pounces forwards and attacks enemies. While on air, Reindog will apply Fireworks Master, which will make him spin and forward attack enemies.
Power Crystal (Up + Special)
Reindog will summon a chargeable crystal above him, which will apply an electric debuff to enemies and an electric melee buff to allies. The more it charges the higher the crystal will be above Reindog, effectively unleashing electric bolts toward enemies. His air attack, Flying Floof, will turn Reindog into an item that allies can use to toss at enemies, dealing damage.
Fireball (Down + Special)
Reindog will launch a chargeable fireball projectile at enemies, effectively dealing with Fire Debuff. The longer the charge the more distance the fireball will cover. It will also create a Firewall Debuff for every fireball created, which causes Fire Debuff. Any ally that passes through it will deal Fire Debuff to enemies whenever they are hit. The air equivalent, Meteor, does the same but uses the projectile downwards without charge.
Signature Perks
Crystal Pal (Level 8)
The chargeable crystal that is summoned above Reindog will slowly move along with him, effectively dealing with electric bolt attacks whenever Reindog is.
Fire Fluff (Level 10)
Creates a larger firewall when the fireball projectile hits the ground.
Best Universal Perks to Use
Make it Rain, Dog!
Increases speed of projectiles by 20%. Can be swapped with Tasmanian Trigonometry to use for melee attacks and helps increase knockback.
Hit ‘Em While They’re Down
Helps Reindog and allies deal 5% more damage to any enemy that is hit with a debuff.
Deadshot
Increases projectile damage by 5%, applicable to crystals and fireballs.
How to Play as Reindog
Since Reindog is viewed as a supporting character, he is best to be used on the sidelines. Reindog has plenty of ranged attacks to use which causes different kinds of the debuff, so you can use him from afar rather than in close combat. His Love Leash is quite handy in multiplayer, and it helps bring in allies who are going to get knocked out of the arena. While it can make sense to use Reindog at a distance, his moves like Power Crystal deal well when he is positioned in the middle of the stage instead. Since he has no passive skills, applying perks that will benefit him will help him in battle.
