Grunts and Spikers
Grunts and Spikers are similar in appearance, so it’s easy to get them mixed up, but one thing is common in both, and it is easy to take them down. Grunts tend to attack head-on, while Spikers attack in range with projectile spikes. They are found everywhere, through all missions and all difficulty levels, but pose no serious threat in Rainbow Six Extraction. Hunt them down with melee weapons to save ammo, since they are not worth it. You can also try killing them undercover, to avoid losing any health. Spikers and Grunts can take increased headshot damage.
Smashers
Smashers are the armored variants of the Grunts, and also more dangerous. Their main attack is charging at players and inflicting heavy damage. Target their weak spots, mainly their arms and back, to take them down.
Tormentors
Tormentors are high-tier enemies, so better look out for them. They can dissolve into Sprawl and get around much faster than average. Be aware of your surroundings, as they can approach you unexpectedly. Your best bet would be to clear out the Sprawl to avoid any confrontation with Tormentors.
Bloaters and Breachers
Bloaters and Breachers are tier two enemies that carry large sacks of explosives on their backs. When you encounter one, get out of the way, as they will attempt to rush and explode at you. You can identify Bloaters carrying green-colored sacks that, when exploded, create a poisonous gas cloud that inflicts continuous damage the more you stay in it. Breachers, on the other hand, carry red-colored sacks and can deal instant damage once triggered, powerful enough to break down walls and barricades. You can use them to your advantage by targeting them to explode at places you would wish to break down walls or other enemies. They are also easy to kill with whatever weapon you own.
Rooters and Sowers
If you spot a Rooter or a Sower in your path, flanking them is the best way to get rid of them. They are known as support Archaeans. They are also known to disorient players that cross their paths, making the players easy prey for other Archaeans. Rooters can pin players down, while Sowers can plant blinding traps around the area.
Lurkers
The worst type of Archaeans players will get to meet in Rainbow Six Extraction. Lurkers can create invisibility on themselves as well as use the same ability on other Archaeans nearby. Target their heads where it is not covered by the armored hood to take them down.
Apex
The Apex can gather hoards of enemy Archaeans from nearby Sprawl. It doesn’t make it easier than the Apex is also heavily armored. Take them down as soon as you spot them.
Proteans
Proteans are shapeshifters and can don the disguise of other REACT Operators. It’s difficult to distinguish them, since they appear looking the same as everyone else on your team, from the outfit down to the weapons. They can also mimic the Operator they have stolen the disguise from. Be wary of them, as they can deal a lot of damage, even wiping out teams who are oblivious. They can only be found deep into the Rainbow Six missions and is a challenge to beat.
